Article Abstract:
The dermis, the inner layer of the skin situated between the basement membrane zone and subcutis, sustains and supports the epidermis, gives protection to the body, cushions the deeper structures from mechanical injury and provides nourishment to the epidermis. The main component of the dermis is an interlacing network of connective tissue made up mainly of collagen with some elastin.

Development of a district-wide teledermatology service
Article Abstract:
The four primary care trusts and the dermatology department at Queen's Medical center developed a district-wide teledermatology service. The aim of the service is to provide effective and efficient diagnosis, treatment and management of dermatological conditions in primary care.
