Are you operating at OPC?
Article Abstract:
Dentists can succeed despite increased competition and the pressures of managed care by defining and maintaining Optimal Productive Capacity (OPC). OPC means maintaining the highest productivity and lowest overhead and stress every hour the practice is open. Traditional dental services may no longer provide growth and high profits. Practices that are productive and growing, even at lower volume, generate the highest profits. Dentists and their staff should be comfortable recommending and promoting elective services. Outstanding customer service also contributes to profit.
