MCAP coordinated by Turku, Finland, includes Stockholm, Sweden, Copenhagen, Denmark, Greifswald and Rostock, Germany, Kaunas, Lithuania, Riga, Latvia, Tallinn, Estonia, and St Petersburg, Russia. Bilateral and multilateral urban health projects include air pollution, waste management and maternity hospital policies.

Cali: the right priorities
Article Abstract:
About two mil people live in Cali, Colombia, the second largest city. Among its problems is a 300,000-resident squatters district with no running water or sewage facilities. The Catholic Church, and a successful grass roots health movement work with the government on the problems.

A nine-year investment
Article Abstract:
Over 350 European cities have been a part of the Healthy Cities Project since 1987. The effort, led by the WHO Regional Office for Europe (EURO), sought to engage departments on the local level in the policies for healthy cities. The various programs carried out are described.
