Assessment and management of erectile dysfunction
Article Abstract:
Sexual impotence can be due to any of a range of factors including psychological influences, vascular problems and hormonal insufficiency. The problem, therefore, requires thorough investigation by the doctor to ensure that treatment is appropriate to the underlying cause. Commonly-used treatments include vacuum pumps, penile injections and oral medications, with surgery and prostheses being used much more rarely. Each treatment has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the patient will need a high level of support to find the treatment which is most successful for him.
