Asymptotic bias and efficiency in case-control studies of candidate genes and gene-environment interactions: basic family designs
Article Abstract:
There are advantages and disadvantages when using population versus family-based controls in gene-environment research. Family-based controls may be more meaningful in the context of family disease, since comparison of simlar genetic backgrounds is desirable. The bias found in population stratification, the different genetic backgrounds within one ethnic group, is only one of several problems in epidemiological research. The use of siblings versus pseudosiblings versus cousins as controls is also discussed.

Application of computer-assisted interviews to sexual behavior research
Article Abstract:
The results of video-enhanced, computer-assisted, self-administered interviews indicated different responses then those given in face-to-face interviews when the subject involved sexual behavior. Women who were reporting sexually undesirable behavior or infrequent condom usage were more like to have a inconsistent response when the different interview techniques were applied.
