Ten men talked about what makes them feel close to the women in their lives. Most men valued spontaneity and spending the whole day together. They frequently mentioned activities such as cooking and visiting museums. Many men expressed dislike for analytical conversations about relationships.

Men have fears that rise from insecurities about themselves. Younger men and women have similar fears that both feel able to express. Older men were raised to not be fearful and to not express their fear. Three categories of fear are discussed.
