Breast cancer: an overview
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer are discussed. Almost every breast cancer arises from the lining of the milk ducts or milk lobules. Breast cancer can sometimes seem to run in families, but most human cancers arise sporadically and are the result of mutations in cells.

Adjuvant treatment for breast cancer patients
Article Abstract:
Non-surgical treatments for breast cancer are discussed. Radiotherapy, which is usually given five days a week for four to six weeks, is generally well tolerated. Other options include chemotherapy, which can reduce the risk of dying from breast cancer by 25%.

The types of surgery used to treat breast cancer are discussed. They include axillary lymph node surgery, mastectomy and axillary node clearance. Attention is also given to the options for breast reconstruction.
