Article Abstract:
New rules preventing employers from setting mental health coverage caps at a level beneath caps for medical and surgical benefits took effect Jan 1, 1998. The rules are forcing thousands of businesses to adjust their mental health benefits. The regulation specifically targets the practice of annual or lifetime mental healthcare benefits that significantly undercut such limits for physical healthcare.
