CA 125 levels in the preoperative assessment of advanced-stage uterine cancer
Article Abstract:
A blood level of CA 125 that is 37 international units (IU) or greater may be a sign that a woman's uterine cancer has spread to other parts of her body, according to a study of 65 patients. CA 125 is a protein that occurs on the surface of some gynecological tumors. An elevated CA 125 level accurately predicted metastatic uterine cancer 94% of the time.

Neovascularization and mast cells with tryptase activity increase simultaneously with pathologic progression in human endometrial cancer
Article Abstract:
A study to correlate the extent of angiogenesis with the number of mast cells expressing tryptase in human endometrial adenocarcinoma is presented. Angiogenesis in endometrial cancer increases with tumor progression and that angiogenic tryptase secreted by host mast cells cooperate in its induction.

Preoperative CA 125 in endometrial cancer: is it useful?
Article Abstract:
A blood level of CA 125 greater than 20 Units per milliliter can identify women with metastatic endometrial cancer. CA 125 is a tumor antigen. In a study of 43 women, this measurement and a grade 3 tumor identified 75% to 87% of the women who had metastatic cancer.
