Calif. demands coverage for drugs with OTC competitors
Article Abstract:
The California Dept. of Managed Care has proposed health plans regarding their restriction on the coverage of a whole class of allergy drugs taking only one medication, Claritin that has gone over-the-counter (OTC) into consideration. Some believe that this drug has increased the paperwork associated with getting payers to cover ClaritinEs prescription rivals, however, some are of the view that the companyEs efforts to tighten reins on drug utilization is justified.
