Can neural stem cells be used as therapeutic vehicles in the treatment of brain tumors?
Article Abstract:
A study published in 2000 found that neural stem cells engineered to secrete interleukin-4 improved survival rates in mice with brain tumors. This was done partly in an attempt to create a treatment that would follow tumor cells as they spread throughout the brain and kill them without damaging normal brain tissue.

SCAP ligands are potent new lipid-lowering drugs
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the low-density lipoprotein receptor upregulation. The compounds binding directly to the sterol regulatory element-binding cleavage-activating protein have been identified and the results indicate that these compounds represent a new class of hypolipidemic drugs.

A new approach for analyzing proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic images of brain tumors: nosologic images
Article Abstract:
This article discusses a new approach, nosologic imaging, designed to gain information about brain tumor types. The authors maintain nosologic images can be easily interpreted by radiologists and physicians, as well as take into account tumor heterogeneity.
