Can we decrease postdatism in women with an unfavorable cervix and a negative fetal fibronectin test result at term by serial membrane sweeping?
Article Abstract:
Serial membrane sweeping may be effective in reducing post term complications in late pregnancies. Women who have an unfavorable cervix and negative fetal fibronectin at term are more likely to deliver late than women who have serial membrane sweeping, an inexpensive and safe method to prepare the cervix for childbirth. Membrane sweeping also prevented the rigors of induced labor in all of the women studied.

Determination of amniotic fluid volume in twin pregnancies: ultrasonographic evaluation versus operator estimation
Article Abstract:
Both subjective and objective assessments of amniotic fluid amounts in twin pregnancies may be inaccurate when there is too much or too little amniotic fluid. This was the conclusion of researchers who estimated amniotic fluid levels subjectively and objectively using the amniotic fluid index, largest vertical pocket, and the two-diameter pocket.

Antenatal testing among 1001 patients at high risk: the role of ultrasonographic estimate of amniotic fluid volume
Article Abstract:
The amniotic fluid index and the 2-diameter pocket technique are not very accurate in predicting whether a pregnant woman will have an adverse pregnancy outcome. Both of these techniques measure the amount of amniotic fluid in the uterus.
