Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a condition in which the heart muscle grows excessively. The resulting cardiac irregularity can cause sudden death. Those known to have the condition should not engage in competitive athletics.

Winterize with vitamin D
Article Abstract:
A study on the effects of vitamin D supplementation on postmenopausal women during winter is discussed. Results indicate that women who took 500 IUs of vitamin D supplements regularly during winter incur lesser bone loss.

Effects of shellfish on cholesterol
Article Abstract:
Contrary to popular belief, shellfish are not high in cholesterol. Research on healthy men who consumed diets heavy in shellfish found that average total cholesterol was not increased.
