Smoke-free policies in schools: a qualitative investigation of the benefits and barriers
Article Abstract:
Teacher-managers at schools in Wales, where the proportion of teenagers who smoke is rising, are generally keen to implement anti-smoking policies, but can encounter practical difficulties in doing so. This is particularly the case in relation to banning staff from smoking on the school premises. Research has revealed that many schools do not find it feasible to advance their smoke-free policies on the basis of established guidelines. Many of those interviewed felt that decisions about becoming a smoke-free zone should not be made by school staff.

Determinants of salt use in cooked meals in the Netherlands: attitudes and practices of food preparers
Article Abstract:
Salt seems to be the most added seasoning in most meal components in the Netherlands, according to research designed to investigate current habits with regard to the use of salt and other seasonings in food preparation. Taste attitude results in the most significant predictor of frequency of salt use, while health attitudes appear to have no strong influence. Efforts to reduce cooking salt should focus on satisfying taste, rather than on the health repercussions of salt intake.
