Caution on circumcision cuts South Africa's AIDS researchers
Article Abstract:
International agencies want to wait for results from further studies before going in for circumcision, which can drastically cut down on HIV infection. But, in South Africa where HIV rates are the highest in the world, experts feel that there is no time to waste and policymakers should start planning to implement the circumcision programme the soonest possible.

This article examines South African President Thabo Mbeki's policy towards HIV infection and AIDS in the country. Mbeki's controversial stance is that AIDS is not a top priority for funding because it is not the number one cause of death.
