Children's trust comes of age

Nurses describe their experience of working at the Children's Trust, a charity that provides short, medium and long-term care for severely disabled young people as a privilege because parents are prepared to entrust their severely ill children to the nursing and care team. The staff feels they work in a loving, family atmosphere where they have the time and resources they need to offer a high-quality holistic service to young people with complex needs.

'Clients respect and appreciate us'
Article Abstract:
A team of Lancashire nurses who developed a service to address the long neglected health needs of homeless people was named Team of the Year at an Awards 2005. One of the team members believes that it is incredibly rewarding to see someone with an unsettled, chaotic, unhealthy lifestyle acquire improved mental health and better quality of life.

Dedication to HIV patients pays off
Article Abstract:
Guido Tapia has been working with patients with HIV and AIDS at the Elton John Centre at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust for more than 10 years and feels his best reward is seeing his patients living healthier lives thanks to new HIV drug treatments.
