Clinical, virologic, and immunologic response to efavirenzor protease inhibitor-based highly active antiretroviral therapy in a cohort of antiretroviral-naive patients with advanced HIV infection (EfaVIP 2 study)
Article Abstract:
The clinical, immunologic, and virologic outcomes of efavirenz (EFV)-based are compared with protease inhibitor (PI)-based highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) in severally immunosuppressed HIV-1-infected patients. The study revealed that EFV-HAART has superior effectiveness in comparison to nonboosted PI-based HAART for the treatment of severally immunosuppressed HIV-infected patients.

Access to antiretroviral treatment, incidence of sustained therapy interruptions, and risk of clinical events according to sex
Article Abstract:
The differences between sexes are assessed in the likelihood of starting antiretroviral therapy (ART) in rates of sustained discontinuation from highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), and in clinical progression. The complex needs of women with HIV are paid attention, and comprehensive efforts are carried out to improve their care.

Use of viral load measured after 4 weeks of highly active antiretroviral therapy to predict virologic outcome at 24 weeks for HIV-1-positive individuals
Article Abstract:
The ability of viral loads measured 4 and 8 weeks after starting highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) to predict whether virologic suppression would subsequently occur after 24 weeks of HAART in patients is studied. The early measurements of viral load enable early predictions of virologic response to HAART.
