Congressional Autism Hearings Continue: No Evidence MMR Vaccine Causes Disorder
Article Abstract:
Congressman Dan Burton (R, Ind) continues to probe the link between the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism after his grandson developed autism shortly after receiving 9 vaccines in one day. Epidemiologists believe these reports are just a coincidence and say there is no evidence that the MMR vaccine increases the risk of autism.

At polio's end game, strategies differ. (Medical News & Perspectives)
Article Abstract:
Doctors and public health officials are debating whether to stop vaccinating children against polio. An outbreak of polio on Hispaniola in 2000 shows that the live virus used in the vaccine can mutate and become infectious again. So continued vaccination could do more harm than good.

Time Trends in Autism and in MMR Immunization Coverage in California
Article Abstract:
Researchers have found to link between measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccination and autism. Even thought the number of children with autism in California increased 373% between 1980 and 1994, the MMR vaccination rate only increased 14% during that time.
