Sexual function and vaginal anatomy in women before and after surgery for pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence
Article Abstract:

Cost-effectiveness of urodynamic testing before surgery for women with pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence
Article Abstract:
Urodynamic testing to detect urinary incontinence is not cost-effective compared to a basic office assessment. This is true as long as the percentage of women with detrusor instability does not exceed 8% and the cost of urodynamic testing exceeds $103.

Posterior vaginal prolapse and bowel function
Article Abstract:
Women who have vaginal prolapse may also have problems with bowel function. Vaginal prolapse occurs when the vagina is no longer supported properly by surrounding tissues. A survey of 143 women with vaginal prolapse, about 24% often had to strain to have a bowel movement and 16% had fecal incontinence. Twenty-eight percent said they were extremely bothered by their problems with bowel function. However, bowel function was not related to the severity of vaginal prolapse.
