Centers to weave addiction treatment into medical education
Article Abstract:
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), in collaboration with the American Medical Association, is planning to establish new centers that will help in improving the substance abuse training medical students and residents receive at the U.S. medical schools. Developing the skills for interviewing patients will be emphasized at medical schools that are trying to improve addiction treatment training for physicians, students and residents.

Could a novel vaccine help smokers quit?
Article Abstract:
Scientists believe that vaccines targeting nicotine might help some individuals quit the nicotine habit. A nicotine vaccine is designed to stimulate the production of nicotine antibodies, which might block some of nicotine's reinforcing effects by sequestering the chemical in blood and preventing it from reaching the brain.
