Delivering the best service
Article Abstract:
The Exeter and District Community National Health Service Trust began a continence pad delivery service to patients living in the Exeter area in November 1992. There are some 1,200 pad users in the community trust and the project was aimed at improving the standard of service to clients. To this end, a standardized continence assessment form was devised for use throughout the whole area covered by the trust. Details of the study are presented.

The impact of pilot schemes of personal medical services on the role of nurses is discussed. The increased involvement of nurses with the management and organisation of general practices is considered.
