Diastolic heart failure -- no time to relax
Article Abstract:
Doctors must do more to prevent, diagnose, and treat diastolic heart failure. Most people develop heart failure because the heart can no longer pump enough blood to support the body. This type of heart failure is called systolic heart failure. In diastolic heart failure, the heart pumps enough blood but does not relax sufficiently between contractions.

Obesity and the risk of new-onset atrial fibrillation
Article Abstract:
The association between body mass index and the risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF) was examined. The result indicates that obesity is an important, potentially modifiable risk factor for AF and the excess risk of AF associated with obesity appears to be mediated by left atrial dilatation.

Pulse pressure and risk of new-onset atrial fibrillation
Article Abstract:
The relationship between pulse pressure and incident atrial fibrillation (AF) is examined. The results have shown that the pulse pressure is an important risk factor for incident AF in a community-based sample.
