New rules reduce risks in bridge construction
Article Abstract:
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration came up with standards governing fall protection in highway-bridge construction. The risks involved in construction are expected to be reduced by the Subpart M-Fall Protection and the proposed Subpart R-Steel Erection rules. The Subpart M requires employers to provide fall protection to employees who work at six feet or more above a lower level. The proposed Subpart R-Steel Erection standards provides protection standards to workers operating at heights of 15 feet or more.
