Don't be a hedgehog!
Article Abstract:
A growing number of health care assistants are being employed in hospitals but insufficient consideration has been given to the tasks that such workers should undertake. A distinction needs to be made between trained health care assistants and the old nursing auxiliaries employed to carry out non-nursing duties. Consideration must be given to the exact role of health care assistants in freeing trained nurses to carry out their work and the way in which health care assistants should work with experienced nursing auxiliaries.
