Drugs that cause pulmonary toxicity
Article Abstract:
A comprehensive list of 67 drugs and groups of drugs which are considered to be possibly toxic to the lung are listed. The adverse effects to the pulmonary system may be hard to identify because of an underlying disease process. The drugs listed in this table do not include those which may cause a generalized reaction or an indirect effect on the pulmonary system, such as on the respiratory muscles or the immune system. Some commonly used drugs found on the list include aspirin, cocaine, ibuprofen, lidocaine, methadone, opiates, pilocarpine, and tryptophan. The name of the drug, the most common pulmonary reaction it causes, the estimated frequency of this reaction, and the risk factors for the reaction are listed in this table. A bibliography of data sources is also included. (Consumer Summary produced by Reliance Medical Information, Inc.)

Drugs that cause psychiatric symptoms
Article Abstract:
Side effects of some commonly used drugs can include mental disturbances. Depression, anxiety, hallucinations and delirium are some of the psychiatric reactions to drugs. Some of the reactions are related to the drug dosage and some occur irregularly. Sometimes discontinuing the drug will cause the mental symptoms to disappear, but some adverse reactions are actually withdrawal symptoms. Physicians need to be able to discern if a psychiatric symptom is caused by a drug or by the disease being treated. A list of drugs and their psychiatric side effects is given.
