Measles History and Atopic Diseases: A Population - Based Cross-sectional Study
Article Abstract:
Measles may not protect children from developing allergic diseases in the future. Some doctors believe the increase in asthma cases is due to the fact that children no longer get measles because they have been vaccinated. The lack of the natural infection is believed to increase the risk of allergy. However, in a study of 547,910 children, the children who had had measles when young were just as likely if not more so to have allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, eczema, and asthma.

Explosive school-based measles outbreak: intense exposure may have resulted in high risk, even among revaccinees
Article Abstract:
Researchers conducted a study to investigate inoculum intensities, which has been suggested to increase vaccine failure risk. The study found that those infected later at home had an increased measles risk. Siblings sharing a room had a 78% risk among vaccinees. Total protection against measles is not achievable among vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
