Article Abstract:
UK nurses Sarah Andrews and Claire Johnston have shared the role of director of nursing at the Camden and Islington trust since 1994. They share control of the 40 million pound sterling budget. The job originally belonged to Claire Johnston, who wanted someone help lighten her work load when she was pregnant. Johnston believes job-sharing is a way forward and is keen to encourage others to try it as a way of working. Sarah Andrews sees job-sharing as providing back up and support for each other and ensuring the maximum input into deciding budget expenditure.

Article Abstract:
UK Macmillan cancer care nurse Liz Mutch was confirmed with grade 3 breast cancer in 1997. Her best friend and main support throughout her illness was Sharron Newbold, with whom she worked in cancer care. Macmillan nurses specialize in providing support and care for people suffering different types of cancer. Mutch felt her knowledge and closeness to cancer patients helped her with her own illness.
