First-trimester diagnosis of placenta previa percreta by magnetic resonance imaging
Article Abstract:
A 33-year-old pregnant woman was diagnosed with placenta previa percreta in the first trimester of pregnancy by magnetic resonance imaging. This defect, in which the placenta invades adjacent tissues beyond the uterus, can lead to catastrophic bleeding in pregnancy and childbirth. Incidental discovery of this defect during prenatal testing allowed the pregnancy to be terminated early.
