Foundations and principles of human reproduction
Article Abstract:
Scientific discoveries are the sign of a perpetual debate between the man and nature, and their endless battles to root out constraints, eliminate global epidemics, decrease the process of aging, and control the time of their birth. Fundamental research often develops into goal-oriented research. One example from reproductive science is research regarding RU-486. Human reproduction is also a branch of medicine where ethical questions play a large part and where the physician must learn to play the restricted role of advising a couple rather than telling them what to do.

Ethics of ignorance: lessons from the epidemiological assessment of the bovine spongiform encephalopathy ("mad cow disease") epidemic
Article Abstract:
Results of several studies did not support or reject a causal relation between bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and a new variant of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD). The consumption of BSE-infected foods and implantation or injection of bovine-derived material could possibly cause vCJD infections in humans, considered as a new form of disease. Health scientists are urged to maintain a high level of ethics and are advised not to hesitate to acknowledge their ignorance about the causality and risks associated with BSE and vCJD.
