Generation of HIV latency during thymopoiesis
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns HIV latency in vivo, focusing on why highly active antiretroviral therapy reduces HIV levels, but fails to completely eradicate the virus. The origin and molecular nature of the latent viral genome is addressed, and the relationship between HIV replication, target cell activation, and cellular gene transcription is discussed.

Pluripotent, cytokine-dependent, hematopoietic stem cells are immortalized by constitutive Notch 1 signaling
Article Abstract:
This article examines hematopoietic stem cell renewal and whether it is affected by the Notch 1 pathway. The authors state Notch 1 signaling in hematopoietic cells can regulate stem cell self-renewal and provides a method for immortalizing stem cell populations.

Monitoring simultaneous subcellular events in vitro by means of coherent multiprobe fluorescence
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the single cellular function. Fluorescent probe technology used in analyzing this function and the sequence of intracellular events in their native state reveals the insights into normal, toxic or pathological processes.
