Georgia PHO restricts physician access to contracts
Article Abstract:
Promina Health System Inc of Atlanta, GA, the largest integrated delivery system in the state, has decided to restrict the access of the 23 managed care contracts it has negotiated for 1,800 physicians in the Atlanta area. Leave yourself an out
Article Abstract:
Practice merger, affiliation or sale agreements should all be written with an exit clause. A health care lawyer should review the contract before it is signed by a physician. An exit clause should be written so that the physician retains what they entered the agreement with whether it be a cash settlement, patient retention or managed care contracts. The lack of an exit clause can prove to be expensive.

Utah physicians capitulate to giant network
Article Abstract:
Physicians who had walked out of an agreement with Intermountain Health Care (IHC) were forced to return for financial reasons. IHC drew away many of the doctors' patients, drove off competitor PacifiCare, and won a sizeable, exclusive contract for serving school district employees. The doctors, who had quit in protest of IHC's monopoly status, resigned with IHC less than a year later.
