Homozygous and heterozygous CCR5-delta32 genotypes are associated with resistance to HIV infection
Article Abstract:

Motivations for participating in an HIV vaccine efficacy trial
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to understand why people join HIV vaccine efficacy trials and the participants' motivations were assessed. The female participants were significantly more motivated than the male participants to join the trial for protection and to receive services or compensation and a need for provision of HIV prevention services outside research trials and for monitoring to ensure that participants are not motivated to join trials for financial gain is indicated.

HIV sexual risk behavior over 36 months of follow-up in the world's first HIV vaccine efficacy trial
Article Abstract:
A study evaluated HIV sexual risk behavior among 5095 HIV-negative men who have sex with men (MSM) and 308 women enrolled in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled efficacy trial of a bivalent rgp 120 vaccines at 61 sites, primarily in North America. Even though HIV sexual behavior did not increase among trial participants, it was substantial throughout the trial.
