A patient with a VEGF and endostatin producing gastrointestinal autonomic nerve tumour
Article Abstract:
The angiogenic factors in the tumour cyst fluid, pleural fluid, and blood of a patient with a gastrointestinal autonomic nerve tumour were analyzed and was found that large quantities of both vascular endo thelial growth factor (VEGF) and endostatin were present. This explains the dysfunctional angiogenesis and the tendency to bleed in this type of tumour.

p73alpha is a candidate effector in the p53 independent apoptosis pathway of cisplatin damaged primary murine colonocytes
Article Abstract:
p53 mediated apoptosis and growth arrest are not the only means by which colonic murine epithelial cells guard against mutation after DNA damage. The endogenous p73alpha was translocated to the nucleus in response to DNA damage in primary murine colonocytes, which suggests a functional proapoptotic role for p73alpha in p53 deficient cells.
