Research suggests that the people who are happiest and most optimistic are the ones who are healthy and it is suggested that low-carbohydrates diets block the brain chemicals and make humans feel happy. Doing what one loves most and doing it well gives an inner satisfaction and self-confidence.

Women are subjected more to the problems of water retention because of their hormonal 'makeup.' Estrogen, which rises two weeks before the menstrual cycle, plays a role in preventing the excretion of sodium. This in turn prevents the elimination of water, leading to 'puffiness' and edema.
