Head entrapment and neonatal outcome by mode of delivery in breech deliveries from 28 to 36 weeks of gestation
Article Abstract:
The incidence of head entrapment among fetuses in the breech position may not differ whether fetuses are delivered vaginally or by cesarean section. Researchers analyzed records from 321 deliveries of breech pregnancies at 28 to 36 weeks for instances of head entrapment during delivery. Four of 52 (7.7%) infants delivered vaginally experienced head entrapment, compared to 14 of 269 (5.2%) infants delivered by cesarean section. Infants delivered vaginally had much higher birth weights and were slightly older than those delivered abdominally. Head entrapment did not cause adverse outcomes for infants in either delivery group.

Effect of magnesium prophylaxis and preeclampsia on the duration of labor
Article Abstract:
Giving magnesium to pregnant women in labor does not increase the duration of labor. Magnesium is often given to prevent seizures in pregnant women who have preeclampsia. The study of over 4,000 women also showed that preeclampsia itself does not affect the duration of labor.
