Health in practice: occupational dermatitis
Article Abstract:
The sometimes devastating effects of occupational dermatitis can lead to workers having to give up work completely and registered as disabled. Hairdressers are in a very high risk category as they deal with chemicals on a daily basis. Other high risk industries are agriculture, catering and construction. Employers must take appropriate action to ensure any contact between an employee and a toxic or aggressive material is limited and carried out under strict codes of practise.
