Health promotion in the high street: a study of community pharmacy
Article Abstract:
Recent research has focused on the difficulties which can hamper the expansion of the health promotion role of community pharmacies. It has found that health promotion work is more likely to be reactive than proactive, with pharmacists often feeling that they do not have a clear role in local health promotion activities. It was concluded that the role of community pharmacies in health promotion could be much more effective.

Interactive health promotion in the community pharmacy
Article Abstract:
A recent study of a community pharmacy health promotion initiative based on providing patients with individualised information relevant to their condition has shown that pharmacists have a clear role to play in health promotion. Patients tend to have fixed views of the pharmacist's area of responsibility, but seem prepared to accept tailored lifestyle advice.
