Could you justify this decision?
Article Abstract:
A professional dilemma is presented where a nurse must determine the best interests of her 16-year-old patient over his wish that she not disclose a child abuse allegation. The case involves a nurse faced with the decision of whether or not to report information disclosed to her in confidence by a teenager. The 16 year old claims to have been abused, but does not wish the nurse to act upon the information. The nurse did not disclose but made the patient aware of resources if he needed them.
