How to be happy at work
Article Abstract:
Self-help counselling focusing on spiritualism has been introduced to the UK National Health service in an attempt to reduce the high levels of work-related stress suffered by many health workers. Promoting a healthy workforce through spiritual development has been shown to make workers more effective, less prone to stress and less likely to take time off due to work-related illness. Staff undergoing spiritual guidance also reported a greater feeling of worth which proved beneficial both in the workplace and at home.

Article Abstract:
The nature of health care limits the development of spirituality because relations are often brief, work loads high and usually not pleasant. Stress has become the standard culture in the nursing professional leading to high incidents of illness and absenteeism. The introduction of a spiritual atmosphere within the nursing role could restore the positive elements of a profession which has been subject to many negative situations.

Spirituality: the awakening
Article Abstract:
The debate on spirituality in nursing has prompted a widespread response. Many people appear to have experience of the spiritual dimension in nursing but, traditionally, discussion about the topic has been restricted to patient assessment form questions about religion. There are signs of a renewal of spirituality in the general public, and it may be significantly important to bring this aspect into the nursing profession.
