Japanese engineers are developing a personal robot to care for patients. The robot will be helping nurses and doctors within 15 years. Within 30 years, it will be helping the elderly cope on their own in their homes and nursing the sick. NHS managers will like robots because they mean lower labour costs.

Privatization: the final solution

Issues concerning the discrepancies in health care standards between private hospitals and the National Health Service in the United Kingdom are discussed. Particular attention is given to the detriments of privatization as a solution for quality improvements in the health service.
