Humane decisions
Article Abstract:
There are very mixed views in the UK about the rationing of the services provided by the National Health Service (NHS). Opponents of rationing believe that this will be used as way of continuing to underfund the NHS and that it will sustain or even accelerate the shift towards private medical care. In contrast, some observers believe that rationing is inevitable. They are calling for open debate about how rationing should be undertaken, and believe that this is the best way to make underfunding into a key political issue.
