Illinois, Pennsylvania join in calls for federal tort reform

Illinois physicians rallied in ChicagoEs Daley Plaza and PennsylvaniaEs Statehouse in Harrisburg for federal tort reform. Illinois is among the 18 states that are in the midst of a liability insurance crisis as doctors are retiring early, discontinuing high-risk procedures or leaving to practice in states where insurance is more available and affordable.

Tort crisis spreads, few signs of abating
Article Abstract:
The medical liability insurance issue is swelling into a major crisis with more number of states witnessing protests. Physicians, who are in support of tort reform are bearing the brunt of this crisis as insurance rates have increased while number of insurers has depleted.
