Images of health: exploring beliefs of children using the 'draw-and-write' technique
Article Abstract:
Recent research has assessed the use of children's art in health research, and has looked in particular at new ways of obtaining information from children which can be applied to different cultural situations. It is now more widely recognised that participatory approaches play a key role in increasing understanding of children and how they view the world, and for this reason the draw-and-write technique has become more widely used in health research. This approach allows children to express ideas which they cannot easily put into words.

Teachers' knowledge of asthma and asthma management in primary schools
Article Abstract:
A survey has been carried out of schoolteachers in 79 establishments in West Glucestershire, England, to assess their understanding of dealing with children with asthma. The survey found that under a third of children were permitted to possess their own asthma inhalers, and there was a low level of kowledge about this illness. Teachers who had undergone training or who had had contact with the illness were better able to respond to the needs of children in their care who suffered from asthma.

What primary school teachers think of drugs education in their school
Article Abstract:
It is widely recognized that drugs education is an important part of modern primary-school education, although its inclusion in the education of infants is controversial. A survey of teachers' views of drugs education in primary schools shows that most teachers support a whole-school policy, but agree that schools should not be the only source of drugs education.
