In line for promotion
Article Abstract:
The UK National Health Service is attaching increasing importance to the concept of public health promotion. The nursing profession supports this emphasis but issues related to the health of the population, rather than the individual, will be unfamiliar to many nurses. The nursing profession will need to re-assess its strategies and consider the competencies it should include in training. These curriculum elements may include the influencing of policy and the commissioning of services to create conditions for physical and emotional well-being.
