Intraobserver and interobserver variability of the amniotic fluid index
Article Abstract:
Variation in the amniotic fluid index may be reduced by having the same individuals perform each measurement. The amniotic fluid index is an estimate of amniotic fluid volume that is performed using ultrasonography. The amniotic fluid index was measured twice in 34 pregnant women in their third trimester by three different individuals. The amniotic fluid index varied between measurements made by different individuals and measurements performed by the same individual. Variation in the amniotic fluid index was greater when measurements were made by different individuals than when made by the same individual.

Intrauterine repair of spina bifida: Preoperative predictors of shunt-dependent hydrocephalus
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to determine which factors that are present at the time of intrauterine repair of spina bifida could predict the need for ventriculoperitoneal shunt for hydrocephalus during the first year of life. The results indicate that, among fetuses who underwent operation in utero for spina bifida, fetuses with a ventricular size of <14 mm at the time of surgery, are likely to require ventriculoperitoneal shunting for hhydrocephalus during the first year of life.

Intraobserver and interobserver variability for the histologic diagnosis of chorioamnionitis
Article Abstract:
During a study, the interobserver and intraobserver variability for the histopathologic diagnosis of chorioamnionitis were examined. The reproducible and reliable degree of agreement demonstrated permits further research to be undertaken relating this diagnosis to adverse postnatal outcomes.
