Is cancer a disease of self-seeding?
Article Abstract:
The mechanism of 'self-seeding', a term used in botany to describe the ability of plants to overgrow an ecosystem can probably explain the concept related to cancer cell which constantly re-seed a tumor mass, making the mass a dense collection of contiguous small growths that infiltrate and potentially destroy its host organ. The mechanism is expected to induce a broadening of the existing anticancer pharamcopoeia, which, with mitosis as its predominant target, is now rarely curative.

Tumor metastasis: Mechanistic insights and clinical challenges
Article Abstract:
Tumor metastasis, which is a primary cause of death for most cancer patients, involves of a series of discrete biological processes that move tumor cells from the primary neoplasm to a distant location. An Understanding of the complex and redundant pathways involving the tumor cell and the microenvironment which mediate tumor invasion at the primary site would help in identify promising molecular targets for cancer therapy and key obstacles to their clinical development.

Intravascular origin of metastasis from the proliferation of endothelium-attached tumor cells: a new model for metastasis
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns the physiological mechanisms that control metastasis, or how circulating tumor cells create colonies in different parts of the body. Topics addressed include tumor cell proliferation, extravasation, and binding to the vascular epithelium.
