Is patient controlled analgesia worth the effect?
Article Abstract:
Ruth Day, a senior nurse chronic pain specialist at Peterborough Hospitals NHS Trust and Margaret Dunham, a lecturer in nursing and pain management at University of Sheffield had a debate on whether patient controlled analgesia (PCA) is worth the effort. While Ruth Day supports the PCA treatment saying that it is the best pain-reliever, Margaret Dunham opposes the issue taking into consideration the ever-growing cost of PCA.
