Enjoyable sex is mental in large part and if one is uncomfortable with one's body, this may inhibit sexual fulfillment. Thinking of body image or trying to distract a partner from an imperfect body takes away from sexual pleasure. Projecting a positive self-image is more self-fulfilling.
