Know how: Treatment for childhood eczema
Article Abstract:
Parents need to receive help and medical backup to alleviate the symptoms of atopic or childhood eczema. About 15% of UK school-aged children suffer to some extent from atopic eczema, although the exact cause of the problem is not fully know. Itching can be prevented by the use of systemic antihistamines, while daily use of emollients prevent the skin becoming too dry or inflamed. Bacterial infection of scratched skin can be reduced by the used of topical bathing antiseptics.
