LMP2 expression and proteasome activity in NOD mice
Article Abstract:
Contrary to the previous published results, this article reports no change in the large multifunctional proteasome subunit 2 expression and proteasome activity in the non-obese diabetic mouse (NOD) splenocytes. However, data show that the observed phenomenon is a developmental phenotype rather than genotypic, which explains discrepancy in the interpretation of the research findings.

NeuroD-betacellulin gene therapy induces islet neogenesis in the liver and reverses diabetes in mice
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate induction of islet neogenesis and diabetes reversal by the introducing a combination of the Neurod and betacellulin genes into the streptozotocin-treated diabetic mice. Treated mice show insulin and other islet-specific transcripts in the liver. Furthemore, typical insulin-containing granules are detected by immunoelectron microscopy.

From cell physiology to cell physiology
Article Abstract:
The author discusses his contributions over the last five decades in the area of cell physiology and related aspects. He opines that although recent developments in molecular biology have decoded the genomes and genotypes, they do not address the structure and function of a cell as influenced by its phenotype.
